IDL splashes N297million on distributors

Distributors of the Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL), makers of Chelsea Dry Gin, Veleta Fruit Wine, Eagle Schnapps amongst others, recently enjoyed the largess of the Company during the 2016 Distributors’ Award held in Lagos.

The Distributors’ Award saw distributors come from the ten (10) IDL distributing regions scattered across the country.  A total sum of N296, 974,000 was given out in both cash and gift rewards. Among the rewards given were single door fridges, 42’’ LED TVs, 55’’ LED TVs, 15 Kva Generators, 20 Kva Generators and 4Tonne trucks.

Meridian Marketing, the No.1 distributor from Port Harcourt, won 6.5 million in cash and a 4tonne truck. Mr. Joseph Ugwoegbu, the MD Meridian Marketing, expressed his delight, and thanked the Company especially for taking time to reward Distributors despite the economic recession Nigeria is passing through.

He added his voice to the clamor for the support of “Made in Nigeria” products, saying IDL products are quality drinks which compare favourably with international brands.

IDL used that opportunity to unveil the new look of their 75cl Eagle Majesty Schnapps and introduce the 1 Litre gift pack, “the Emperor”.

The unveiling was done by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, accompanied by IDL’s top management staff. A dance drama which underscored the relevance of culture and celebrations preceded the unveiling.

Mr. Mobolaji Alalade, Head of Marketing said the Brand was renewed because of imitations in the market. He said the new look features fool proof security feature on its label and bottle caps. He further added that the gift pack was one of its kind in Nigeria and each contains a tot glass and handkerchief.

The Eagle Aromatic follows Action Bitters and Commodore Schnapps as brands recently re-engineered by IDL.
